We are aware that the stave configuration of your worktop can highlight the beauty of each timber in a unique way transforming each of our kitchen worktops into one of a kind. Hence we have created this guide to assist you in creating your worktop which represents your character. House of worktops provides three different stave configurations for kitchen worktops – standard, deluxe and full staved.
Each one of our standard stave configurations is manufactured using the finger joined method which provides the promised strength and sturdiness to your worktop. Since standard are the smallest of size 40 to 40 mm, each stave type would highlight a different part of the timber, one would show the grain of the timber, other the pattern, other different hue transitions creating a unique mosaic, a timeless worktop found only in your kitchens. Of course this mosaid would be different for each timber type however standard stave configuration are the best way to capture the vibrant character of the timber to the fullest extent enabling your kitchen worktop to live up to its fullest potential of elegance. For your kitchen worktops we recommend using standard configuration for oak, walnut, cherry or other timbers with deep and vibrant characters.
Our deluxe stave configuration is with length 80 mm and width 65 mm. It is manufactured by the stave configuration method. Being bigger than the standard, it enables for a more uniform appeal and less of a mixture between grains, patterns and colours hence making the worktop suitable for minimalistic and modern kitchens. It is very compatible with kitchen accessories of different kinds of materials such as metals and it serves as bringing out the character of the timber. Again we recommend using timbers with vivid characters in order to create a worktop one of a kind such as oak, beech or walnut.
The full stave configuration is obtained by the edge glue method with stave sizes depended on the desired length of your kitchen worktop. This method ensures the most uniform and monochrome appeal of the worktop since each stave runs at the length of the timber. This also ensures that each stave presents a deepened presentation of the character of the wood type making your worktop a timeless piece in which the age, the path and grace of the wood type can be enjoyed to the fullest extent. Hence as you may guess, kitchen worktops made out of full staved configurations are compatible with both traditional and modern kitchens, depending on your desired way of styling. In order to enjoy the advantages of the full staved configuration we recommend using timbers where the annual rings can be visible such as ash, or using full staved configuration to bring out the unique patterning of the wood such the zebrano wood. We hope that by choosing the full staved configuration the timelessness of the timber would be transmitted to your kitchen worktop.
