What are the advantages of buying Pre-Oiled Worktops?
Last Updated on April 19, 2023
As you may know the saying “You can never over-oil your worktop”, it is very important that your worktop is oiled and sealed-well. You can make your worktop always look as good as day one by cleaning and most importantly oiling it on a regular basis. We encourage users to use Danish oil as it is a mixture of several types of natural wood oils that nourish the wood itself. We recommend re-oiling the worktop 3-4 times a year in order to always protect against humidity and water. Actually the more often the wood worktop is oiled, the easier it is to maintain later on as the surface of the worktop is easier to clean and wipe.
Saving Time
Even though purchasing pre-oiled wood worktops may be more expensive than buying the worktop untreated and applying the natural oil yourself, we would still encourage our clients to go for pre-oiled worktops as this can actually save you some time during the fitting process and we, House of Worktops, also guarantee the oiling process to be done by professionals.
Pre-oiled Worktops Means Protected Worktops
First of all, three coats of Danish oil have been applied on all our pre-oiled worktops. Pre-oiled worktops reduce the vulnerability of the worktop itself to the external climate due to the protection secured by the sealing. Even though our timber materials are kiln dried in a state-of-art kiln drying facilities, with an extensive air drying process prior to the kiln drying process, drastic fluctuations in temperatures and moisture can even cause movements in the structure of the timber that is dried in optimal circumstances. In order to mitigate these risks, we would encourage our customers to use our pre-oiling services before placing an order.
Things You should Consider Before Installing Your Worktop
We highly recommend making sure the humidity and temperature of the area where the worktop is going to be fit to be stable, with no significant fluctuations. Please bear in mind that tumble driers may increase the humidity in the room, as they release moisture. If your tumble dryer is not functioning properly we strongly recommend having it inspected by an engineer, because higher moisture concentration can result in irreversible damage not only in your worktops but also your kitchen cabinets and doors.
Saving Time means also Saving Money
By purchasing pre-oiled wood worktops the customers can actually save not only time but also money, respectively. In other words, pre-oiled worktops means getting your job done significantly faster at the expense of paying a marginally higher price for a pre-oiled worktop. Once the wooden worktop is pre-oiled and fixed to the kitchen, the job is done simply by reapplying the final coat of oil. As the kitchen job is done significantly faster than otherwise, the monetary benefits of the pre-oiled worktops far outweigh its marginally higher price. Most importantly by purchasing pre-oiled worktops the clients can actually can start enjoying their dream kitchen several days before the deadline.
