What makes Our European Walnut Worktops so Special?

House of Worktops has been active in wood working industry since 1999, throughout those years House of Worktops has establish itself as one of the largest company, particularly involved in harvesting timber material. The company have approx. 30 log transporters, having an access to almost all woodlands within radius of 200 km from the headquarters in Bulgaria. The forestry team consists of professionals having deep industry knowledge with strong nationwide forestry networks. It can be said that our competitive edge compared to the other wood worktop producers starts right at the very beginning, where we are able to cherry pick the finest walnut timber all over the country and as a result of which produce the finest walnut worktops. But the process does not solely finish by being able to cherry pick the tree, at any location throughout the country, thanks to our existing log transporting fleet, we are able to transport those “cherry picked” walnut logs to our headquarters by combining them with different timber materials: (i.e. oak or beech), which in turn not only reduces the costs, but also reduce our carbon footprint.
Apart from cherry picking the very best walnut timber material, our competitive edge compared to the other walnut worktops producers also arises from the fact that we are processing the rootball of the highest quality walnut timber in the region. Bulgarian Walnut, like the Turkish Walnut is worldwide known for its deep color and wavy pattern. The color pattern of the freshly sawn rootball material is similar to art, where people just cannot take their eyes off the beauty of the contrasting wavy pattern of the grain.
Very few wood worktop producers are able to have access to walnut rootball materials for many reasons. Firstly, the wood worktops producers most often are sourcing their raw timber materials from external sawmills, i.e. they are neither involved with the sawing process of the timber, nor the harvesting. Secondly, only a very few sawmills can saw rootball materials as the rootball is highly complicated and expensive to be sawn and the material have to be carefully sawn and this coupled with the existing of rock and sand debris within the bark makes it even harder to be processed – the sawblade is sometimes changed after its first cut. Therefore it can be said that very few wood worktop producers are able to access the walnut rootball timber materials as it is hard to be processed i.e. sawn from the sawmills and at the same time it is hard to be excavated off the soil as the harvesting companies need special personnel and equipment to take the walnut off the soil.
If It is Very Hard to Process The Walnut Rootball, Then Why are We Processing this Timber Material?
We as House of Worktops family are producing riflegun stocks out of the rootball material, which in turn is the main ingredient for producing an exclusive or high-end riflegun. Those eye-prisoning wavy and gracefully curly ornaments makes those rifleguns to be collected and kept for generations to come. The stock blank pieces that are outside the standard sizes, are simply used for our walnut worktops. The magic and the beauty of our walnut worktops come from the combination of these individual pieces into the whole worktop. The drastic colour difference from one stave to another create a unique motif and a cocktail of golden hues turning into dark brown and ending with smokey grey colour. If the worktops are well-maintained, we strongly believe that customers would use these beautiful walnut worktops for generations to come. We as wood worktops producers are so proud to be able to use those finest walnut timbers in the process of producing wood worktops with the finest European timber material.
