Are you looking for a solid oak worktop to define your kitchen?
Strong, reliable and timeless
At House of Worktops, we believe that the wood which is used in your kitchen is one of the most important aspects to consider when renovating or designing a kitchen which is right for you. As such, we don’t just offer our clients a limited range of choices when it comes to the wood we use for our worktops, but aim to give them enough options that they can browse freely until they find something which speaks to them. Nowadays, many people who are looking to design a kitchen feel that an oak worktop is the best decision, because of its reputation as being both a reliable, solid work surface, as well as being attractive and timeless.
Why choose an oak worktop?
Oak is renowned worldwide for its natural beauty, durability and resistance to ageing. The phrase ‘England was built on oak’ is arguably true for any country which is fortunate enough to have the trees grow indigenously, but has become to mean more than just wood. Oak trees have grown to be synonymous with reliability, craftsmanship and quality of the highest degree. Here at House of Worktops we feel that the oak we provide to our clients reflects these qualities, and that anyone who is looking for an oak worktop can leave with a product which lives up to the reputation of the timeless wood. At House of Worktops, we offer our clients three distinctly different types of oak worktops, each of which has its own unique features and attributes.
What types of oak worktops can I buy?
At House of Worktops we believe that the wood which you buy is a vital aspect of how you want your kitchen to ‘feel’ and the atmosphere which you are trying to set. As such, the three distinctly different types of oak which we offer all set different atmospheres which tailor to the needs of the client and the room which it will be fitted into. The first type of oak which we offer is traditional, standard oak. We also offer prime oak which is especially selected and configured in such a way that the staves used are very uniform and sleek, without having any flaws or misalignments. This oak is a go-to choice for those who are looking for a more streamlined and professional looking worktop surface. We also offer deluxe oak, in which we only use wider 80mm staves which allows each stave to express the unique patterns within the wood and truly express the diversity in each individual section. In recent years we have also noticed a rise in the amount of people opting for our deluxe rustic oak. For this wood we deliberately select staves which have the most ‘character’ and place them together in a way which truly amplifies the natural composition of knots and colour hues of the different staves. We place them all together in a way in which they complement each other and let the rustic, natural beauty of the wood shine through.
Where is the oak sourced from?
Each piece of oak we use for all of our different options are responsibly and sustainably sourced from the Black Sea region. This is a deliberate decision, as the harshness and polarising weather conditions between the winter and summer months result in the wood growing to be far denser and more solid than oak from less harsh climates. Therefore, anyone who purchases an oak worktop surface from us here at House of Worktops can rest assured that the product they receive is of the highest and strongest possible standard.
