Why choose an oak worktop?
Last Updated on April 28, 2021
If you are looking for a durable yet attractive material to use for your kitchen, then an Oak Worktop could be for you. There are so many great benefits that come with using this material, whether it is for aesthetics or durability.
At House of Worktops, we take pride in making sure that we provide you with a kitchen of your dreams that can last a lifetime. If you are looking for high-quality Oak for your worktops, twinned with friendly customer service, then this is the place to come!
What are the advantages?
The first main benefit of using Oak is it’s strength, as it is an extremely durable material. “Solid as oak” is a commonly used simile, and you will see why if you choose to have it for your kitchen. They are built to withstand time and countless uses, and if you do damage it, it will be easier to repair than some other materials. If you drop a knife and chip your Oak Worktop for example, it can simply be filled in or sanded down and it will look as good as new.
The warm feel of using oak for your kitchen is also a benefit, as it creates a more homely feel as soon as it is installed. It breaks up a white background nicely, but not too intensely, giving it a natural but prominent look. Oak looks great if you are going for a rustic farmhouse theme, as it blends in nicely whilst also aging well, giving it more and more character as time goes on.
Variations of Oak that we offer
As well as standard Oak Worktops, we also offer other variations which are all slightly different. This is great in catering for our client’s specific needs, as even though some of them are small adjustments to original oak, it can make all the difference.
Deluxe Oak is one of these variations, it is the same colour palette as the original oak, but just has wider staves. This allows for more space for patterns to flow through the wood, bringing even more character.
The second is Prime Oak, which is composed of specially selected staves that complement each other and create a more uniformed look. This means that there are less flaws in the patterns, and more simplicity, whilst still bringing that warm Oak feeling.
Our Black Oak carries the durability or standard Oak, but has been dyed to create a darker and more luxurious colour to add to your kitchen. The darker, thicker look of the Black Oak can really complement lighter colours and create a sharp but appealing contrast.
Another variation we have is Deluxe Rustic Oak, which is simply beautiful. With wider staves, and more specific selection of the colours and patterns, it creates a truly unique and characterful space.
Our Full Stave Deluxe Oak range is simply a piece of art. Each individual stave is carefully made from premium oak planks, giving a higher-quality look and feel. The staves themselves also blend it slightly more with one another than some of our other types, giving a smoother and more flowy look.
