Why should I choose a wooden worktop?

Here at House of Worktops, we offer many different types of wood to choose from when you are renovating your kitchen. We understand that it is important for our clients to choose a worktop that they love, and one that they will feel proud to look at whenever they are in their kitchen.
Why have a wooden worktop?
The appearance of our Wooden Worktops is one of the main reasons they are so popular. Wood is very versatile, meaning that it can look good with a wide variety of other materials. Whether you have a rustic theme with exposed brick or a white and sleek modern theme, using wood will always flow with it. We offer many different types of wood in various shades to match your kitchen perfectly, adding a more natural and warm feel.
On top of looking good, wood is also a very durable material, and can last a lifetime if well-looked-after. It is important that your worktops are made out of a durable material such as wood as it ages well, unlike other materials that can be used, meaning that as time goes on, the wood will age beautifully, and increase the amount of character that it brings. This is a great factor when thinking about choosing a Wooden Worktop as it means you won’t have to worry about replacing them after a few years of use.
The management of wood is also a great thing to think about, because sometimes accidents happen and you may unexpectedly damage your worktop. When this happens, you can enjoy not having to worry about forking out a lot of money to repair it. This is because wood is one of the easiest materials to repair, whether you chip it or stain it, it can be easily fixed. Wood is also one of the easiest materials to work with compared to some others, meaning that it is great to use if you have a more unusual kitchen layout.
What types of wood do we use?
Oak is one of the more popular options, due to the lower cost and beautiful natural look of it. Oak is also very durable, and the type we use grows to become 15% denser and harder than some others, meaning that it is a great option for a longer life worktop.
Beech is another type of wood we use for our worktops, which has a light and more delicate colour palette. This is great if you want your kitchen to feel light and airy, whilst also looking nice and natural. On top of this, Beech is also very durable, and this is due to it originating from challenging mountain slopes in the woodlands of Europe, meaning that they needed to develop extreme stress resistance. This stress resistance shines through the quality of this wood, giving you endurance, strength and stability, whilst also looking amazing.
Another material that we use for our Wooden Worktops is walnut, which has a more dark tone to some of the other wood we use. This type of wood is one of the most beautiful in the world, meaning that is more on the high-end spectrum. The deep, luscious tones mixed with the bespoke wavy patterns creates a luxurious but natural feel.
