Natural hardwood worktops come with many benefits - not least a luxurious look and durable properties. With basic care & maintenance, they will last a lifetime and beyond. Maintenance simply means a refresh of the protective oil coating every now and then. You’ll know it’s time to re-oil when the existing oil dries out. If a drop of water sits on the work surface, the oil level is fine. If it sinks in, it’s time for another coat. You should also always use a worktop saver for hot cookware and avoid chopping directly on the surface.

Durability and Origins: Alongside its harmonical appearance, our Black Sea Oak grows to become 15% harder and denser, due to the internal stress caused by the harsh temperature differences throughout the summer and the winter seasons. In turn, this continuous stress hardens the Oak fibers and turns the timber into an extremely hard-wearing surface that will certainly last a lifetime. The reaction of the wood fibers to the stress is similar to how our muscles react when they are exposed to continuous tension - they become denser and harder.
