When you are designing your kitchen, it needs to be perfect. The fact is that you will be spending a significant amount of time in this part of your home – there’s a reason it’s often referred to as the heart of the home. And, like any good heart, you want it to pump life into you and make you feel alive every time you walk in there to cook, dine and socialise with friends and family. At House of Worktops, we know that the finishing touches of a kitchen are all important and choosing worktops to suit your kitchen’s new style is a crucial element of the overall appearance. You don’t want to opt for something that isn’t functional and hard-wearing, but you also need something stylish and aesthetically pleasing. Make way for an oak worktop!
Why you should choose a wooden worktop
The beauty of wooden worktops is that they offer a classic finish to any style of kitchen. They are durable and solid, as well as being naturally hygienic thanks to wood’s antibacterial properties. Another great benefit of choosing wood for your worktops is that it ages well – oak looks particularly good as it ages. The natural colour of the wood deepens with age and offers a unique appearance as no two pieces of wood are the same.
Why choose oak?
Out of all trees, there is something charming and iconic about an old oak tree. At our plantations, you can be sure that our wood is sustainably sourced and there is no waste as we use off-cuts to make Eco-fuel – nothing goes to waste. As such, it is also appropriate that oak symbolises longevity, survival, strength and protection. It has been used traditionally as a building material for centuries and it should be no surprise to discover that it is hard-wearing and will last a lifetime. We offer a range of oak worktops, including Prime Oak, Deluxe Oak and Deluxe Rustic Oak.
Our oak has its origins in the Black Sea Region, where the trees that grow there are 15% denser and harder, offering you the durability and strength you expect from high-quality kitchen work surfaces. It is denser because of the severe temperature fluctuations between the winter and summer seasons, and thanks to the dry climate of the region.
